ANC is a construction industry giant with ‘n’ number of sites and activities. It’s a holdings company with activities like steel plant, glass manufacturing etc…They also have schools and fresh food companies.
ANC was running on SUN Servers, storage and Solaris Platform with Oracle single instance database. They had issues related to performance, speed, database optimization and tuning. The in house IT team was really in a state of nightmare.
Being focused on customer service and satisfaction, getting into action, Standard Infosys, pro-actively deployed its resources on to the site. The output report was turned out to be too critical. The database was overloaded, RAM was used to 99%, CPU usage was 92% and HDD free space was 2 GB – At this status it was a real wonder how the datacentre operations didn’t crash. Thanks to SUN Microsystems!!!
Standard Infosys Team got into remedial action, diagnosed the status and submitted the status report with action plans need to be done. On getting the project approved and awarded, action was initiated with immediate effect.
- The SUN Hardware was upgraded with new SPARC servers and Storage
- Oracle Database was upgrade to Oracle 10G
- Oracle RAC was implemented for redundancy
- SUN storage was installed for data security and more room was created for smooth functioning
- Network was beefed up with re-structuring as required
- Database migration was done to the new setup
- Backup was configured to the new Storage Box
- Performance enhanced in terms of database, CPU, RAM and overall speed
- 100% past investment protected due to our systematic analysis and right solution in data-center re-engineering
- SUN Gold Maintenance agreement signed for three years for trouble free support services.
- Lotus notes offered as mailing solution with migration of old mail boxes and administrators trained.
Thus the ANC case was successfully commissioned and handed over with support agreement without any operation downtime.
DAMAS JEWELLERS
Damas is the top most leading retail giant in the Jewelry vertical. It has presence across the entire Gulf Region, global offices and flooding into Indian Sub Continent.
Standard Infosys maintains the IT infrastructure of Damas, not only in Dubai, but also in Kuwait, Oman etc..
Damas planned and constructed its own manufacturing and functional unit in DMCC area. Due to miscommunication and overlooking the scope, the building was finished and interiors also completed and commissioned without the plan for data voice infrastructure. The IT team was then called in to look in and get the IT infrastructure in place.
It was really a blind field in front of the IT team and were left to stray. Standard Infosys, got into action, when the other leading players were not ready to take up the project over a completed construction. Standard Infosys consortium with its experienced engineers and NW designers designed the flow for NW infrastructure, without disturbing even a single factor of the full completed corporate building.
When the plan was put to IT team of Damas with the commercials, the team really had its relief and was happy to have the solution implemented.
Thus the backbone of business operation was commissioned @ the DAMAS new DMCC facility.
